Kitchen Basics Recipes
Appetizers / Starters
Dip
Blend together 2 TBS of any TSG herb/spice blend with 1 cup of sour cream (regular, light or fat-free) and 1 cup of mayonnaise (regular, light or fat-free.) Chill for 30 minutes to let flavors completely develop. Enjoy with your favorite snack chip or vegetables.
Fabulous “Skinny Dip”
Place 1 cup of nonfat sour cream with one cup of nonfat cottage cheese and 2 Tablespoons of any TSG herb and spice blend in a blender. Blend thoroughly. Enjoy with your favorite snack chip or vegetables.
Regular or Skinny Bread Bowl Dip
Make the dip as above and add 1 cup of fresh shredded spinach, 1 Teaspoon of Great Garlic, ½ cup of diced ham and salt & pepper to taste. Served in a hollowed out bread bowl with bread chunks for dipping.
Herbed Spirals
Mix together ½ cup cream cheese (or light cream cheese), 2 teaspoons of any TSG herb/spice blend and ¼ cup of parmesan cheese (fresh works best.) Open one can of refrigerated crescent rolls and separate into 4 rectangles. Spread each rectangle with about 2 Tablespoons of cheese mixture. Roll up the rectangles and slice into 6 rolls each. Bake 12-16 minutes in a 350 degree oven. Cool and enjoy!
Creamy Salad Dressing
Combine ½ cup mayonnaise, ½ cup sour cream, 1 Tablespoon of vinegar, 1 teaspoon of Dijon mustard and 1 Tablespoon of any TSG herb/spice blend in a bowl. Whisk together until all ingredients are emulsified. Fabulous on tossed salad or as an accompaniment to sliced vegetables.
Cream Cheese / Bagel Spread
Don’t spend a fortune on flavored cream cheese ever again! Mix 1-2 Tablespoons of any TSG herb/spice blend with 8 oz of softened cream cheese. (For a great treat, try Sinful Cinnamon blend with chopped walnuts and a little brown sugar and/or raisins) Chill for ½ hour or more before serving to let flavors fully develop.
Basic Salad Vinagrette
Mix 2 Tablespoons of vinegar (any kind- experiment with balsamic, red wine, champagne, cider, etc!) with 1 teaspoon of Dijon style mustard. Gently whisk in 6 Tablespoons of oil (again, experiment- try Roasted Garlic or Lemon, or olive). Add a generous pinch of any TSG herb and spice blend along with salt and pepper to taste. Enjoy!
Crusty Bread with Dipping Oil
Add some freshly cracked Tricolore Peppercorns to a shallow dish or plate of Roasted Garlic oil. Serve with delicious Italian style bread & enjoy!
Great Garlic Bread
Spread butter or margarine on Italian Bread and then sprinkle with a generous amount of Great Garlic seasoning and salt to taste. Put in the broiler until bread toasts to desired level. Serve warm. Also try with any other TSG herb blend for a delicious treat!
Main Course / Side Dishes
Rub
To make a basic meat rub, combine 2 Tablespoons of any TSG herb and spice blend with salt (we suggest a kosher or large grain style of salt) coarsely ground Tricolore Peppercorns and 2 Tablespoons of oil (try our Roasted Garlic Flavored for fabulous results.) Mix thoroughly in a small dish and then pat on meat before grilling or roasting.
Marinade
Mix ½ cup of vinegar (any kind- experiment with balsamic, red wine, champagne, cider, etc!) with 1 ½ cups of oil (again, experiment- try Roasted Garlic or Lemon, or olive) with a pinch of salt, a generous amount of coarsely ground Tricolore Peppercorns and 2 Tablespoons of any TSG herb and spice blend. Mix well and place meat in marinade (works great in a large zipper style bag) for 1-4 hours before cooking.
Roasted Potatoes
Combine ½ cup of oil (Roasted Garlic works fabulously) with a generous pinch of any TSG herb and spice blend and salt and coarsely ground Tricolore Peppercorns to taste. Cut 1- 1 ½# of potatoes into any style (they’re really best with skins left on!) Toss potatoes in mixture and bake at 350 until crisp on the outside, turning potatoes 1-2 times while cooking.
Compound Butter
Mix one stick of soft, salted butter with 1 Tablespoon of any TSG herb and spice blend. Put in a small plastic container and chill for at least ½ hour before use. Put a pat in with cooked vegetables, on top of beef, chops or game after grilling, as a topping for bread (Zesty Garlic Compound Butter makes outrageous Garlic Bread) or anywhere else butter would be used. Outstanding!
Mashed Potatoes
Prepare your mashed potatoes as you normally do, adding a generous pinch of any TSG herb and spice blend along with some freshly ground Tricolore Peppercorns. In a hurry? Just mash the potatoes, add a little milk and a generous pat of Compound Butter you already have made. Another style? Instead of butter, add our Roasted Garlic Flavored Oil for a rich, delicious flavor.
Easy Beans
Zesty Beans: 1 can kidney beans (any variety, drained) ½ chicken bouillon cube (crushed), dollop of sour cream, a little shredded cheddar and your choice of Kickin’ Cajun, Southwestern Seasoning, Great Garlic or White Chili. Mix and microwave for 2 minutes. Enjoy!
Quick and Easy: 1 can of any style beans, almost all the way drained (leave a little liquid), 1 T of your choice of seasoning (works great with Citrus Dill, Great Garlic, Viva Italiano, etc. Mix and microwave for 2 minutes. Add salt and pepper to taste. Enjoy!
“Healthy Refried Beans” 1 can of red kidney beans (drained), 2/3 c crushed or diced tomatoes, Southwest seasoning, salt and pepper to taste. Put all in a food processor and blend on high until mixed. Transfer to bowl and heat in microwave 2-3 minutes.
Award-Winning Salmon
Ready for a recipe that will bring you acclaim? Place a salmon fillet in a glass baking dish. Generously spread our Deluxe Honey Mustard on top of the salmon fillet. Coarsely chop pecans and sprinkle on top of the mustard. Cover with aluminum foil and bake at 350 for 8-10 minutes. Remove foil and continue baking until fish reaches desired doneness. Enjoy!!!

Extraordinary Coffee
Lightly sprinkle to cover the top of your coffee grounds with Sinful Cinnamon Blend before brewing. Adds a great, cinnamon – nut flavor to any coffee without the calories!
Quick and Easy Sticky Rolls
Mix together ½ cup of packed, light brown sugar, 1 heaping Tablespoon of Sinful Cinnamon Blend and 2 Tablespoons of soft butter. As an option, you can add chopped nuts of any style and/or raisins to the mixture. Open one can of refrigerated crescent rolls and separate into 4 rectangles. Spread each rectangle with about 2 Tablespoons of cinnamon mixture. Roll up the rectangles and slice into 6 rolls each. Bake 8-12 minutes until lightly brown in a 350 degree oven. Cool and enjoy! Optional: drizzle with glaze that is 1/3 Cup of powdered sugar mixed with 2 teaspoons of milk.
Outrageous Blueberry or Fruit Muffins:
Substitute equal amounts of Lemon Flavored Oil for vegetable or canola oil in your favorite muffin recipe or mix. Adds a deliciously subtle change to your recipe.
Lemon Pound Cake
Substitute equal amounts of Lemon Flavored Oil for vegetable or canola oil in your favorite pound cake recipe or mix.
